Updated IBook G4 with 1GB DDR PC2700 MEMORY MODULE but it fails to show up in system profiler
I installed 1GB DDR PC2700 MEMORY MODULE in my IBook G4 according to the instructions. I know it's clicked in there properly and everything, but my system profiler still only detects 256 MB of RAM. Using Apple's Hardware Test software that came with my computer, still only 256 MB of RAM shows up. Is there something else I need to do so that my computer is able to use the RAM I've just installed? Thanks.

Re: Updated IBook G4 with 1GB DDR PC2700 MEMORY MODULE but it fails to show up in system profiler
If the module is not detected by the System Profiler it could either be that it is not quite installed properly or there may be a fault with the slot. Please try reinstalling the module again, ensuring that the notch between the pins is lined up with that in the slot, install at a 45 degree angle and push in until you hear a firm click, then place it down flat into the slot. The gold pins should practically disappear from view once fully seated. Please note that it is possible to have the module locked into the side clamps without the module being fully seated in the slot. It is very common on Apple systems for memory not to be recognized because it is not installed fully.
If this does not help, please confirm the full model details of your iBook G4 (i.e.. processor speed, display size etc.) and also the full CT part number on the module you have ordered so we can confirm compatibility.
I hope this helps.
